NEW – Apprenticeship Opportunity
Women’s Resource Center has partnered with the Catawba Science Center in a workforce development referral program that aims to connect women with opportunities to enhance their job skills and prepare them to enter or re-enter the workforce. Successful participation as an apprentice will also provide opportunities for networking, as well as acquiring a letter of recommendation.
Apprentice requirements:
-Desire to enter the workforce
-Some experience working with the public
-18 or older
-Committed to follow all rules and regulations of the Catawba Science Center
-Reliable transportation
-Holds at least a high school diploma/GED or higher
-Must be able to pass a criminal background test
Guidelines:
-The potential apprentice must complete a screening interview with the Director of Programs (DOP) at Women’s Resource Center.
-If the participant fits the requirements, a referral for the apprentice opportunity will be made by the DOP.
-The participant must then fill out an official application from the Catawba Science Center
-The Release Authorization for a background check must be signed to move forward
-If the background check is cleared by the Catawba Science Center, it is at the Catawba Science Center’s discretion when and if the participant will start.
