Our History of Empowering Women
Women’s Resource Center, centrally located in Hickory, NC began as a visionary effort in 1986 and was formalized as a nonprofit in 1987 with a steadfast focus on holistic women’s empowerment. Since then, we have been helping women across Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba counties live stronger, fuller lives. WRC provides a safe, welcoming space to be heard, access resources, and gain the tools needed to thrive.
Over the years, we’ve grown into a vital community hub—offering services ranging from resource coaching and pantry support to mental health counseling and emergency financial grants. Through support groups, life-enriching workshops, and community events, we empower, uplift, and stand alongside ALL WOMEN every step of the way.
